Focus and Scope

Indonesian TESOL Journal (ITJ) published by LP2M IAIN Palopo is a biannual, refereed, open access, and practitioner-oriented electronic journal dedicated to enhancing and disseminating scholarly work of the current theory and research in the field of TESOL. It publishes both conceptual and research-based articles within the fields of teaching English as a foreign or second language, English language teaching and learning, and English language teachers' training and education. Then, it aims to provide a medium for second and foreign language scholars, researchers, teachers, and officials at any levels to involve in the ways that research and theorizing can inform, shape, and ground teaching practices and perspectives. In other words, it also provides a forum for the exchange of information and ideas among members of the profession worldwide about research- and theory-based practices as well as practice-oriented theorizing and research.

Peer Review Process

ITJ is a peer-reviewed journal. Submissions that reviewed by the experienced reviewers in the field of ELT should meet the requirements of the journal. In addition, all the submissions should be rated based on the following standards.

1) The title is appropriate, succinct, and clearly expressed.

2) Abstract depicts the whole article well.

3) The author(s)’ objectives are straightforward and well grounded.

4) The author(s) utilize adequate, appropriate, and highly-qualified references.

5) The article is of appropriate length (approximately 2,000 to 8,000 words).

6) The article is written based on the academic writing standards.

7) Illustrations, diagrams, and figures as well are easy to understand and functional.

8) The article plays a part in to the theories development and/ or practices in the field of TESOL or EFL/ESL.


Publication Frequency

Indonesian TESOL Journal (ITJ) published by LP2M IAIN Palopo is a biannual in which it publishes twice a year in the months of March and October at least 5 (five) articles for each issue or number. Therefore, this journal will publish at least 10 (ten) articles for each calender year.


Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. This journal does not require both processing and publishing charges.



This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...
