This study aims to describe the form and factors that cause code mixing in community speech in Sumber Mulia Village, Simpang Raya District, Banggai Regency. This research is motivated by the high diversity of languages and the intensity of language contact in the daily lives of the multilingual community of Sumber Mulia Village which triggers the emergence of the phenomenon of code mixing. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The data in this study is in the form of community oral speech obtained through Sugiyono's observation, listening, recording, and recording techniques. Data analysis refers to several stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions from Miles and Huberman as well as the theory of the mixed form of the Jendra code and the causative factors of Suandi code mixing. The results of the study showed that the type of code mixing found was inner code-mixing which included 8 data, consisting of three forms, namely: mixing code in the form of 4 data (including root words and reword), mixing code in the form of phrases as many as 2 data, and mixing code in the form of clauses as many as 2 data. The factors causing code mixing include the limitations of the use of language codes, the background and personality of the speakers, the influence of interlocutors, the habit of using regional languages (Javanese and Bugis), and informal and relaxed communication situations. The results of this study can be a reference in understanding the phenomenon of bilingualism and sociolinguistics in society and become a learning resource for Indonesian language learning materials.
