Abstract


This thesis discusses the Effect of Covid-19 News and the Use of Media on the Self-Concept of Street Vendors on the Ring Road of Balandai Village, Palopo City. The aims are: To determine the effect of Covid-19 news on the self-concept of street vendors on the Balandai Village Ring Road, Palopo City, and to This study aims to determine the effect of using media on the self-concept of street vendors on the ring road of Balandai sub-district, Palopo city. This study uses ex-post facto quantitative research methods. The total population is 37 street vendors with sampling using saturated sampling. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire (questionnaire) and documentation. Furthermore, the statistical analysis technique used to process the results, namely descriptive statistical analysis, and multiple regression analysis using SPSS for Windows Vers 20. Based on the results of the research conducted, there was a significant influence on the news of Covid-19 (X1) on self-concept (Y) The output is known to have a coefficient of determination or R square of 0.024, this means that the magnitude of the effect of X1 partially on Y is 2.4% and its side 98.6% is influenced by other variables outside of this regression equation or other variables not examined in this study. this research. This result is then on the influence and significant use of media (X2) on self-concept (Y) the output is known to have a coefficient of determination or R square of 0.026% this means that the magnitude of the effect of X2 partially on Y is 2.6% and the rest is 98 ,4% is influenced by other variables outside of this regression equation or other variables not examined in this study.
