The Journal of Indonesian Islamic Studies (JIIS) is committed to promoting the dissemination of high-quality scholarly research through an open-access publishing model. To support the sustainability of its editorial operations, publication services, and scholarly dissemination, JIIS implements the following author fee policy.
IDR 0 (Free of Charge)
JIIS does not charge authors any fees for manuscript submission. Authors may submit their manuscripts through the journal's online submission system without making any payment.
IDR 500,000 (Indonesian Rupiah) per accepted article.
Authors whose manuscripts have successfully completed the peer-review and editorial evaluation processes and have been formally accepted for publication are required to pay an Article Processing Charge (APC) of IDR 500,000.
The publication fee contributes to the operational costs associated with maintaining the journal's quality, accessibility, and sustainability, including:
Editorial management and manuscript processing.
Manuscript formatting, layout editing, and publication preparation.
DOI registration and maintenance for published articles.
Plagiarism and similarity screening using appropriate detection software.
Online publication, website maintenance, and digital archiving.
Open-access dissemination and journal management.
The publication fee does not guarantee manuscript acceptance. All submitted manuscripts are evaluated according to the journal's editorial standards, publication ethics, and peer-review procedures.
The publication fee is payable only after a manuscript has been formally accepted for publication.
Authors are not required to make any payment during the initial submission, editorial screening, or peer-review stages.
Detailed payment instructions will be provided by the JIIS editorial office following the official acceptance notification.
Authors are advised not to transfer any publication fees without receiving official instructions from the journal.
JIIS recognizes that financial limitations may prevent some authors from covering publication expenses. Therefore, authors experiencing genuine financial difficulties may request a full or partial waiver of the Article Processing Charge.
Waiver requests should be submitted to the editorial office, preferably during the initial manuscript submission, accompanied by a brief explanation of the circumstances.
All waiver applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis, subject to the journal's financial capacity and editorial policies.
Requests for fee waivers will not influence editorial decisions or the outcomes of the peer-review process. Manuscripts will be evaluated exclusively on their academic quality, originality, relevance, and compliance with the journal's publication standards.
JIIS maintains a clear separation between editorial decisions and publication payments.
The acceptance or rejection of manuscripts is determined solely by academic merit, peer-review recommendations, and editorial assessment.
Payment of the Article Processing Charge does not guarantee acceptance, preferential editorial treatment, or accelerated publication.
