Journal Information and Publication Policy Updates

1. Journal Background

IQRO: Journal of Islamic Education has been published since 2018 in both print and online formats. From 2018 through 2024, the journal published two issues per volume annually. Starting in 2025, IQRO expanded its publication frequency to three issues per volume to serve the academic community and provide additional opportunities for scholarly dissemination in Islamic education and related fields.

2. System Migration and Website Development

OJS Migration | June 2024

  • IQRO successfully migrated its journal management platform from Open Journal Systems (OJS) 2 to OJS 3 in June 2024.
  • The migration was accompanied by a website redesign to provide a more modern and user-friendly interface for authors, reviewers, editors, and readers.

3. Editorial Management Improvements

IQRO continues to strengthen its editorial management system to support transparent editorial processes, rigorous peer review, and continuous improvement in publication quality. These initiatives include:

  • Editorial Board Renewal: Updating the editorial team to incorporate relevant academic expertise and fresh perspectives.
  • Reviewer Panel Development: Maintaining a qualified reviewer pool and rigorous peer-review standards.
  • Editorial Service Improvement: Improving manuscript handling and communication with authors.
  • Publication Quality Assurance: Maintaining academic standards and improving the quality of published articles.

4. New Article Template (2025)

Beginning with Volume 8, Issue 1 (2025), IQRO introduced a comprehensive article template to improve manuscript structure, formatting consistency, and the presentation of scholarly work.

Authors are encouraged to consult the latest article template and author guidelines before submitting or revising manuscripts.

5. Updated Article Title and Language Policy (2026)

Starting with Volume 9, Issue 3 (2026), IQRO: Journal of Islamic Education implements an updated language policy for submitted and published manuscripts. Article titles, abstracts, and keywords must be provided in both English and Indonesian, while the full text of the manuscript must be written entirely in English.

Language Requirements

  • Article Title: Each article must include its title in English and Indonesian.
  • Abstract: Each article must include an abstract in English and an abstract in Indonesian. Both versions must accurately represent the research purpose, methods, main findings, and conclusions.
  • Keywords: Keywords must be provided in English and Indonesian, consistent with the respective abstracts.
  • Full-Text Manuscript: The manuscript must be written entirely in English, including the introduction, literature review where applicable, research methods, results and discussion, and conclusion.
  • Author Responsibility: Authors must ensure that both language versions of the title and abstract are accurate and consistent, and that the English manuscript meets academic writing standards.

This policy aims to standardize manuscript presentation, improve international accessibility, and broaden the dissemination of scholarly work published by IQRO. Authors must follow the current article template and author guidelines when preparing their manuscripts.

6. Publication Schedule Update

IQRO's publication schedule has evolved to accommodate the journal's development and its commitment to serving researchers and the wider academic community.
