Authorship Criteria
Al-Khwarizmi: Jurnal Pendidikan Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam is committed to transparent, responsible, and ethical authorship. Authorship gives scholarly credit, and it also means accountability for the integrity of the published research.
1. Authorship Eligibility and Contributions
A person qualifies as an author only if all of the following are met:
-
making a substantial intellectual contribution to the idea, design, implementation, data collection, analysis, or interpretation of the research;
-
helping to write the manuscript or revising it critically for important intellectual content;
-
reviewing and approving the final manuscript before submission and publication; and
-
accepting responsibility for the integrity, accuracy, and ethical conduct of the work.
People who do not meet these requirements must not be listed as authors.
Every author must have a clear contribution. Authors may use the Contributor Roles Taxonomy (CRediT), such as conceptualization, methodology, investigation, formal analysis, data curation, writing, and supervision.
2. Corresponding Author Responsibilities
The corresponding author communicates with the editorial office and must make sure that:
-
all eligible contributors are listed as authors;
-
all authors have approved the manuscript, the author order, and the submission;
-
the declarations on research ethics, funding, and competing interests are complete and accurate; and
-
all authors receive editorial communications and approve the final publication.
3. Acknowledgments and Prohibited Practices
People who gave technical help, administrative support, language editing, funding, or other contributions that do not meet the authorship criteria should be named in the Acknowledgments, with their permission.
Guest authorship, gift authorship, and ghost authorship are prohibited.
AI systems and automated tools cannot be listed as authors, because they cannot take responsibility for research integrity. Any use of AI must follow the journal's Policy on the Use of Generative AI and AI-Assisted Technologies.
4. Changes in Authorship and Authorship Disputes
Requests to add, remove, or reorder authors after submission must include a written reason and written agreement from all affected authors.
The editorial office may pause manuscript processing until an authorship dispute is resolved, and may refer the dispute to the authors' institutions when needed. After publication, changes to authorship are reviewed by the editors. If approved, the journal will publish a clear and linked correction notice.
Complaints about inappropriate authorship, undisclosed contributors, or disputes over contributions will be handled under the journal's Publication Ethics policy and COPE guidance. Editors will decide fairly and confidentially, based on documented evidence and free from personal or institutional influence.
