Post-Publication Discussion and Correction
Al-Khwarizmi: Jurnal Pendidikan Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alami protects the integrity of the scholarly record. Readers may discuss published articles, raise concerns, and request corrections. Every change to a published article is recorded in a formal notice that is linked to the original article. Articles are never changed silently.
1. Comments and Replies
Readers may submit scholarly comments on published articles, and the original authors may be invited to reply. Comments must focus on the scientific content of the article, be professional in tone, and disclose any conflicts of interest. The editorial team screens all comments and may ask an independent reviewer to assess them. Where possible, accepted comments and replies are published together.
2. Research Integrity Concerns
Concerns about plagiarism, data fabrication or manipulation, duplicate publication, authorship disputes, undisclosed conflicts of interest, ethical violations, or other publication misconduct are handled confidentially. The editorial team assesses the evidence, asks the authors for an explanation when appropriate, and may refer the matter to the authors' institutions or relevant authorities.
These cases follow the Allegations of Research Misconduct policy. Authorship disputes also follow the Authorship Criteria. Concerns about fake references or undisclosed AI use are handled under the Policy on the Use of Generative AI and AI-Assisted Technologies.
3. Corrections and Retractions
Depending on how serious the problem is, the journal may publish an erratum, a corrigendum, an expression of concern, or a retraction. Retraction is considered when the findings are unreliable or when there is a serious breach of publication ethics. A retracted article stays in the scholarly record, with a clear notice that explains the action taken.
4. Correction Requests
Authors or readers may ask for a correction. The request should:
- identify the article;
- describe the error;
- propose the corrected text; and
- explain how the error affects the research findings.
The editorial team evaluates the request and decides on the action, in consultation with the authors and, when needed, independent experts.
5. Responsibilities
- Authors should report significant errors and cooperate with editorial investigations.
- Readers and reviewers should raise concerns responsibly and give supporting evidence.
- Editors must handle cases fairly, promptly, and confidentially.
- The publisher must keep correction notices accessible and linked to the original articles.
