Types of Manuscripts

Al-Khwarizmi: Jurnal Pendidikan Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam accepts three types of manuscripts: original research articles, literature review articles, and meta-analysis articles. All submissions must fit the scope of the journal: Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Applied Mathematics, and Natural Sciences. Both theoretical and practical approaches are welcome.

1. Original Research Articles

These articles report new research findings. Depending on the field, the research may be:

• empirical research in mathematics education or natural science education, using quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods; or

• theoretical, computational, or modelling research in mathematics, applied mathematics, or the natural sciences.

The article must show a clear scientific contribution, such as advancing theory, practice, methods, or innovation in its field.

2. Literature Review Articles

These articles give a critical and systematic review of existing studies on a specific topic. They should combine the findings of earlier studies, show emerging patterns and research gaps, and explain the implications and directions for future research.

3. Meta-Analysis Articles

These articles combine the results of earlier studies using statistical methods. They should clearly explain:

• how the literature was searched and how studies were selected;

• the inclusion and exclusion criteria;

• how data were coded; and

• the statistical methods used to calculate pooled effect sizes and, where relevant, to identify moderators of the results.

General Requirements

All submissions must show originality, a strong theoretical foundation, methodological rigor, and a significant contribution to knowledge and practice in the journal's fields. Manuscripts must be original work that has not been published before and is not under review by another journal.
