PLAGIARISM POLICY

The Editorial Team of IQRO: Journal of Islamic Education recognizes that plagiarism is an unethical publishing practice and therefore establishes the following policy, which outlines specific actions and penalties when plagiarism is detected in a manuscript submitted for publication.

Definition

Plagiarism refers to the act—whether intentional or unintentional—of claiming authorship or credit for a scientific work by using parts or the entirety of another person's work without proper acknowledgment of the original source.

Policy Statement

  1. Submitted manuscripts must be original, have never been published, and are not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

  2. Any material taken from other sources—whether quoted directly or paraphrased—must be properly cited to distinguish it from the author’s own text.

  3. All manuscripts submitted to IQRO: Journal of Islamic Education are checked for plagiarism using Turnitin plagiarism detection software (www.turnitin.com) starting from 2018.

  4. The Editor-in-Chief will review any identified case of plagiarism and take appropriate action according to the level of severity as described below.

Levels of Plagiarism and Corresponding Actions

1. Minor Plagiarism

  • Description: Plagiarizing part of a short sentence or a few words from another source without proper citation.

  • Action: The author will receive a warning and be asked to revise the manuscript by properly citing the source.

2. Major Plagiarism

  • Description: Copying substantial portions or sections of another work without proper acknowledgment or citation.

  • Action: The manuscript will be rejected and will not be considered for publication in IQRO: Journal of Islamic Education.
Additionally, the author(s) may be prohibited from submitting future manuscripts to the journal.

Additional Provisions

  • All authors listed in the manuscript are jointly responsible for the content they submit to IQRO: Journal of Islamic Education. In cases where plagiarism is confirmed, all authors will face the same consequences.

  • If a manuscript is found to have been submitted simultaneously to another journal (dual submission), either during the review process or after publication, it will be treated as a case of major plagiarism, and the actions stated above will apply.

  • For any form of plagiarism not explicitly covered by these rules, the Editorial Board of IQRO: Journal of Islamic Education reserves the right to impose sanctions according to its professional judgment.
