Archiving Policy
MADDIKA: Journal of Islamic Family Law is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation, security, and accessibility of its published scholarly content through digital archiving and preservation mechanisms.
PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN)
MADDIKA uses the Public Knowledge Project Preservation Network (PKP PN) to support the long-term digital preservation of its published journal content. The PKP PN is a preservation service developed by the Public Knowledge Project (PKP) for journals using Open Journal Systems (OJS).
The PKP Preservation Network utilizes the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) program to support decentralized and distributed digital preservation. This approach helps protect the scholarly record and supports continued access to published articles in the event that the journal's website becomes unavailable or the journal ceases publication.
The PKP PN operates as a dark archive, meaning that preserved content is not ordinarily made publicly accessible through the preservation network while the original journal remains available. Under applicable trigger conditions, preserved content may be made accessible through participating PKP-hosted journal platforms.
Online Journal Archive
All published articles and issues are maintained in the MADDIKA OJS archive and are available through the journal's website. The journal is committed to preserving its publication records and maintaining access to previously published scholarly content.
Digital Preservation and Backup
The journal recognizes that digital preservation through PKP PN is distinct from routine website and database backups. Appropriate backup and recovery procedures should therefore be maintained separately to protect journal data, publication files, and editorial records.
Through these preservation measures, MADDIKA aims to safeguard the integrity of its scholarly publications and support their long-term availability to researchers, academics, and the wider scholarly community.
