Authorship
MADDIKA: Journal of Islamic Family Law is committed to transparency, accountability, and fairness in authorship and the recognition of scholarly contributions. All individuals listed as authors must have made substantial intellectual contributions to the research and manuscript and must be willing to take responsibility for their respective contributions.
1. Authorship Criteria
Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to the conception or design of the research, data collection, analysis or interpretation, or the development of the manuscript. All authors must participate in reviewing or revising the manuscript, approve the final version for publication, and agree to be accountable for the integrity and accuracy of the work.
Individuals who have provided administrative support, funding acquisition alone, technical assistance, or other contributions that do not meet the criteria for authorship should be acknowledged appropriately rather than automatically listed as authors.
2. CRediT Contributor Roles
MADDIKA encourages authors to identify their individual contributions using the Contributor Roles Taxonomy (CRediT). The taxonomy provides a standardized framework for describing contributions to scholarly research and publication.
The following roles may be used, where applicable:
-
Conceptualization: Formulation of the research ideas and objectives.
-
Methodology: Development or design of the research methodology.
-
Software: Programming, software development, or implementation of computational techniques.
-

3. Declaration of Author Contributions
Authors are encouraged to provide an author-contribution statement at the time of submission or in the final manuscript. Each contributor should be assigned only the roles that accurately reflect their actual involvement in the research and preparation of the article.
For multi-authored manuscripts, the corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all listed authors have agreed to the authorship order and the declared contributions. Any changes to authorship after submission must be justified and approved by all affected authors and the editorial team.
4. Use of Generative AI
Generative AI tools cannot be listed as authors or contributors because they cannot assume responsibility or accountability for scholarly work. Any use of generative AI must comply with the journal's Generative AI Policy. Human authors remain responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of the manuscript.
5. Editorial Responsibility
The editorial team may request clarification regarding authorship or contributor roles when necessary. Suspected cases of honorary authorship, ghost authorship, inappropriate attribution, or disputes concerning author contributions will be handled in accordance with the journal's publication ethics procedures.
Through this policy, MADDIKA seeks to promote transparent attribution, responsible authorship, and recognition of the diverse contributions that support scholarly research and publication.
