Peer Review Process

Peer Review Process

The peer review process is a mechanism in which experts in the relevant field evaluate and provide feedback on manuscripts submitted to a journal. The primary objective of this process is to assist editors in assessing the suitability of a manuscript for publication in the Pedagogik Journal of Islamic Elementary School.

Stages and Mechanism of the Review Process:

1

Stage 1: Manuscript Submission

Authors submit their complete manuscript through the journal's online submission system (Open Journal Systems), ensuring compliance with all requirements specified in the Author Guidelines.

2

Stage 2: Administrative Check and Initial Screening

The managing editor or editorial team conducts an initial screening to assess the topic's relevance to the journal's scope, adherence to guidelines, and the manuscript's originality using tools such as Turnitin. At this stage, a manuscript may be directly rejected, accepted for review, or returned to the author for administrative corrections.

3

Stage 3: Peer Review

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent to a minimum of two expert reviewers in the relevant field. The process employs a double-blind system (the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed). Reviewers are selected from the journal's editorial board or university academics. In cases of significant disparity in evaluations, the manuscript may be referred to a third reviewer; the final decision is based on the majority opinion.

4

Stage 4: Communication of Review Results and Preliminary Decision

The editor communicates the reviewers' recommendations (along with anonymized comments) to the author. Recommendations may include: Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Reject. The editor may also make a preliminary decision based on this feedback.

5

Stage 5: Revision Stage

The author revises the manuscript according to the reviewers' comments and recommendations and submits a response letter detailing all modifications made. The revised manuscript is resubmitted for re-evaluation.

6

Stage 6: Final Decision

The editor evaluates the revised manuscript and the author's responses. If all requirements are met and the reviewers are satisfied with the revisions, a formal manuscript acceptance notification is issued. Otherwise, the process may return to the revision stage or conclude with rejection.

7

Stage 7: Production and Publication

Finally accepted manuscripts proceed to the production stage, which includes copyediting, grammar correction, typesetting, and formatting. Upon completion of this process, the article is published online in the relevant journal issue.
