Manuscript Types
IQRO: Journal of Islamic Education publishes original scholarly works that contribute to the development of knowledge, theory, research, and practice in Islamic education and related fields. The journal welcomes manuscripts that demonstrate academic rigor, methodological transparency, originality, and relevance to Islamic education and studies.
The journal accepts the following types of manuscripts:
1. Original Research Articles
Original research articles report the findings of empirical studies conducted using qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-methods approaches. These articles may address issues in Islamic education, teaching and learning, curriculum development, educational assessment, teacher education, educational technology, Islamic studies in educational contexts, and related areas.
Research articles should clearly present the research problem, objectives or research questions, relevant theoretical and empirical literature, research methodology, findings, discussion, conclusions, and implications. Authors must provide sufficient methodological detail to enable readers to evaluate the validity and credibility of the findings.
2. Literature Review Articles
Literature review articles provide critical and systematic examinations of existing scholarly literature on relevant topics in Islamic education and related fields. The journal welcomes systematic literature reviews, scoping reviews, systematic mapping reviews, and other rigorous forms of literature synthesis.
Review articles should clearly explain their objectives, search strategies, information sources, eligibility criteria, selection procedures, analytical methods, and synthesis of findings, as applicable to the review design. They should identify research trends, theoretical developments, methodological issues, knowledge gaps, and directions for future research.
Manuscripts classified as review articles must offer a clear analytical contribution beyond merely summarizing previously published studies.
3. Conceptual and Theoretical Articles
Conceptual and theoretical articles develop, examine, or critically evaluate concepts, theories, frameworks, and models relevant to Islamic education and related disciplines.
These manuscripts should establish a clear conceptual or theoretical problem, engage critically with relevant scholarly literature, and present a coherent argument that advances existing knowledge. Authors should explain the originality, theoretical significance, and potential implications of their proposed framework, interpretation, or argument.
4. Research and Development Articles
Research and development articles report the systematic design, development, validation, implementation, and evaluation of educational products, learning models, instructional materials, assessment instruments, or educational technologies.
These articles should explain the development framework or procedure, needs analysis, validation process, implementation context, evaluation methods, and findings. Where applicable, authors should report evidence of validity, practicality, effectiveness, and limitations.
Manuscripts should demonstrate a clear contribution to educational theory or practice rather than merely describe the production of an educational resource.
5. Case Study Articles
Case study articles provide an in-depth investigation of a particular educational institution, program, classroom, community, policy, or educational practice
