Vol. 11 No. 1 (2026)Contemporary issues in Islamic economic law encompass the harmonization of global Sharia governance and regulatory standards led by bodies such as the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions and the Islamic Financial Services Board, the rapid expansion of Sharia-compliant fintech and digital assets including cryptocurrency, the development of sustainable and green sukuk aligned with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, which evaluate environmental protection, social responsibility, and transparent governance, the strengthening of dispute resolution and arbitration frameworks, and the advancement of inclusive instruments such as zakat, waqf, and Islamic microfinance within evolving national and transnational legal systems worldwide today.

Vol. 9 No. 1 (2024)Maslahah Mursalah based Policy, Equality and Empowerment (AICIS 2024) This session explores one of the critical issues in the ongoing global economic uncertainty, namely the empowerment of communities and economic equality. Equality here is not just about income distribution but also about social equality and justice. This needs to be complemented by socially just empowerment. The main issue often highlighted is equality and justice, especially for marginalized groups, in this economic empowerment. Islam, in this context, has actually paid attention to the role of marginalized communities in the economic sector through the concept of maslahah mursalah. However, how economic empowerment based on maslahah mursalah is shaped to create an ecosystem of economic empowerment that not only ensures justice in wealth distribution but also empowers every individual and group in society. -
