AI Policy

Generative AI Policy

Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools, including large language models (LLMs) and multimodal models, are rapidly evolving and increasingly used across business, consumer, and academic sectors.

The Journal of Tunas Cendekia recognizes the potential benefits of Generative AI tools, including supporting idea generation, assisting authors in language refinement, and accelerating research dissemination.

However, the journal also acknowledges the risks of these technologies and establishes this policy to ensure responsible and ethical use, upholding academic integrity, accuracy, and originality.

Primary Risks of Generative AI Tools

• Inaccuracy and Bias: AI may produce incorrect or biased outputs (“hallucinations”) that can affect scientific validity.
• Lack of Attribution: AI may generate content without proper citation, risking plagiarism.
• Confidentiality Risks: Uploaded data may be processed on third-party systems with unclear data protection.
• Unauthorized Data Use: User data may be reused for model training by AI providers.

Guidelines for Authors

Authors are fully responsible for the originality and integrity of their manuscripts. AI tools may be used only as supportive instruments under strict human oversight.

Permissible Uses (with caution):
• Idea generation and brainstorming
• Language editing and grammar improvement
• Literature organization support
• Coding assistance for data analysis

All AI-generated content must be carefully reviewed and validated by authors. AI tools must not be listed as authors.

Transparency Requirement:
Authors must disclose AI usage in the manuscript, including tool name, version, and purpose of use.

Prohibited Uses:
• Writing substantial parts of the manuscript without human revision
• Generating or replacing research data
• Creating or manipulating figures, images, tables, or datasets
• Producing abstracts or supplementary materials

Guidelines for Editors & Reviewers

Editors and reviewers must not upload unpublished manuscripts or related materials into any AI system due to confidentiality and ethical concerns.

Peer reviewers must provide original evaluations. AI tools must not be used to generate peer review reports. Limited language assistance may be allowed, but full responsibility remains with the reviewer.

This policy may be updated as AI technology and publication ethics continue to evolve.
