Publication Ethics Statement

This publication ethics statement applies to all parties involved in the publication process of this scientific journal, including managers, editors, reviewers, and authors. This statement is based on the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI) Regulation No. 5 of 2014 concerning Scientific Publication Ethics, which upholds three main ethical principles:

• Neutrality: free from conflicts of interest in publication management
• Fairness: granting authorship rights to those who deserve to be recognized as authors
• Honesty: free from duplication, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism (DF2P)

Duties and Responsibilities of Journal Managers

• Determine the journal name, scope, publication schedule, and accreditation status if necessary
• Appoint editorial board members
• Define relationships between publisher, editors, reviewers, and other parties through formal agreements
• Maintain confidentiality for all parties involved
• Enforce intellectual property rights, especially copyright
• Establish journal policies and communicate them to authors, editors, reviewers, and readers
• Develop codes of conduct for editors and reviewers
• Publish the journal regularly
• Ensure funding sustainability for publication continuity
• Build cooperation networks and marketing strategies
• Manage licensing and legal aspects

Duties and Responsibilities of Editors

• Align the interests of readers and authors
• Continuously improve publication quality
• Ensure the quality of published manuscripts through proper review processes
• Uphold academic freedom objectively
• Maintain academic record integrity of authors
• Issue corrections, clarifications, retractions, and apologies when necessary
• Be responsible for formatting and style, while content remains the responsibility of authors
• Seek feedback from authors, readers, reviewers, and editorial board members
• Encourage journal evaluation when needed
• Support initiatives to reduce research and publication errors, including ethical clearance requirements
• Educate researchers on publication ethics
• Review policy impacts on stakeholders and improve them accordingly
• Remain open to new ideas and differing perspectives
• Avoid biased decisions
• Encourage authors to revise manuscripts to meet publication standards

Duties and Responsibilities of Reviewers

• Review manuscripts assigned by editors and provide recommendations
• Avoid reviewing manuscripts with conflicts of interest
• Maintain confidentiality of manuscripts and review results
• Encourage authors to improve their manuscripts
• Re-review revised manuscripts when necessary
• Conduct timely reviews according to journal standards and scientific principles

Duties and Responsibilities of Authors

• Ensure all listed authors meet authorship criteria
• Take collective responsibility for the content of the manuscript
• Declare funding sources and contributions
• Explain research limitations
• Respond professionally to reviewer comments
• Inform editors if withdrawing a manuscript
• Confirm originality of the manuscript and that it is not under consideration elsewhere
