Peningkatan Kemampuan Membaca Permulaan Melalui Penerapan Metode Membaca Berulang Berbasis Differentiated Instruction pada Siswa Lamban Belajar

Kemampuan membaca permulaan merupakan keterampilan dasar yang menentukan keberhasilan siswa dalam mengikuti proses pembelajaran pada jenjang sekolah dasar. Siswa yang terindikasi lamban belajar membutuhkan intervensi yang lebih intensif dan sesuai dengan karakteristik serta kecepatan belajarnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa kelas II sekolah dasar melalui penerapan metode membaca berulang berbasis Differentiated Instruction. Penelitian menggunakan desain Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri atas tiga hingga empat pertemuan dengan tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian berjumlah tiga siswa kelas II yang terindikasi lamban belajar. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi dan tes kemampuan membaca permulaan, kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif menggunakan persentase serta disajikan dalam bentuk tabel dan diagram. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode membaca berulang berbasis Differentiated Instruction mampu meningkatkan proses dan hasil kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa. Peningkatan terlihat secara bertahap dari kondisi pra-siklus hingga pelaksanaan Siklus I dan Siklus II. Pada Siklus I, persentase ketuntasan kemampuan membaca permulaan mencapai 53%, kemudian meningkat menjadi 82% pada Siklus II. Peningkatan tersebut menunjukkan bahwa pemberian latihan membaca secara berulang yang disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan dan kemampuan individual siswa dapat membantu memperkuat keterampilan membaca permulaan. Dengan demikian, metode membaca berulang berbasis Differentiated Instruction dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa lamban belajar di kelas II sekolah dasar.
